I've been feeling down since losing my job, how can I motivate myself?

Losing a job can be a big setback in a persons life. Often times people feel that they employment status helps define who they are.  Unfortunately with todays economy, losing a job is often not something you can be in control of and being unemployed does not reflect on your work ethic or skills.

Keeping yourself motivated will looking for a new job can be challenging, especially if you are not able to find something new immediately. Try to avoid falling into bad habits such as staying up late and then sleeping all morning. Consider volunteering at local organizations as a way of maintaining a 'schedule' while also giving back to the community. Volunteering is also a great network tool, you never know who you will meet.
